BBC’s vision is to be the premier child care provider in the South Bend area, offering the most parent engagement, family compassion, and enrichment. We raise the bar on care and early education by creating a safe place for low-income families, and all families, to get more support for their children.
Our mission is to provide affordable, quality childcare and early education programs with extended hours and free extracurricular activities to low-income families and offer additional benefits to care for the family structure and enrich the lives of the families we serve.
Program Director Lyrica McBride is passionate about teaching. With 2 small children of her own, she has a strong desire to help and nurture people and believes in providing a solid foundation where children can learn and grow to their fullest at BBC. “Bright Beginnings is my home away from home, and I would love to have our program be that for other families as well.” -Lyrica McBride
BBC initially ran as a for-profit, in-home childcare program. As BBC continued to grow, Ramal realized the deep need for affordable childcare and wraparound services for families in the community. She opened its first commercial space in October 2018. BBC:
Our methodology combines evidence-based and best practice measures to create a structure of programming that meets the outcomes and metrics we’ve established for our services. We have found that through engaging with our programs, students and families are empowered with the support they need to be on a path of self-sustainability that leads to vibrant, healthy families.
